The term "Clean Beauty" means different things to different brands as there is no governing body in regards to clean beauty standards. For us clean beauty means that we are mindful of both the environment and the skin when determining what ingredients to add to our formulations. With so much misinformation and marketing scar tactics found on the internet we like to stick to the facts and analyze each ingredient for it's efficacy, safty and overall benefits for the skin.
Our goal is to help you achieve your best skin, it is not to judge you for the choices you make regarding your skin care as we realize you are an informed consumer and we are here to help you navigate the best regimen for your desired goals.
We find many of our customers are simply overwhelmed with so many choices and conflicting information that we welcome you to fill out our on-line consultation form where you will receive straight forward product recommendations from our in-house esthetician, please click on link to get started

While we have decided to exclude most synthetic ingredients, the efficacy of our formulations and our “Clean Beauty” approach for both the skin and the environment is our main focus. Having been in the skin care industry for over two decades and experience in both 100% natural organic, biodynamic and science based skin care we feel the very best results are achieved when there is innovation first ahead of formulating to fit into a category box such as all natural.
To define ourselves as all natural would eliminate our ability to take advantage of some of the most superior forms of active ingredients. With the two main reasons being:
1. We would not be able to use the the most superior forms of Vitamin C - Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate and L-Absorbic Acid – which are lab made and have hundreds of studies and proven results. Sadly there are many skin care brands that claim these to be natural when in fact they are not. In our 25 years in the skin care industry we have yet to find a natural active that has the same clinically proven results and efficacy as Vitamin C.
2. We use biotechnological fermented and semi-synthetic alternative animal replacement ingredients for actives such as Collagen, Elastin, Ceramides and Hyaluronic Acid to name a few. To call ourselves all natural would mean we would be unable to use these nature identical vegan replacement ingredients and would be left with a less effective alternative to animal ingredients.

We source the purest most superior ingredients that are clinically proven to work on the skin, this is a synergy of Organic, Biodynamic, Wild Crafted Botanicals combined with clinically proven anti-aging actives that are efficacious and safe.
The essential oil is solely the “volatile aroma” components of the plant while the plant extract can be from the whole plant or just part of the plant. A plant extract can be made from a tincture infusion or dried plant and because they contain more then just the aroma part of the plant it can be used in much higher doses and is generally well tolerated by most skin types.
All of our face treatment oils are silicone and plastic free and made with non-comedogenic cold-pressed plant oils. Not all face oils are created equal and many face oils on the market contain pore clogging oils.
The best way to determine if a plant oil will clog your pores is to check it’s comedogenic scale. The scale uses a numbering system of 0 to 5. Here’s how the numbers rank on the scale:
PLANT OIL COMEDOGENIC SCALE BY SKIN TYPE
0 – zero pore clogging (ideal for all skin types)
1 – very low (can be used by most skin types)
2 – moderately low (most skin types can use a minimal amount of level 2 plant oils)
3 – moderate (lipid dry skin types only – not for oily or acne skin)
4 – pore clogging (should only be used to treat true lipid dry skin types only)
5 – extremely pore clogging (should only be used in body care)

Do You Test On Animals?
We do not test any of our ingredients, formulations or finished products on animals. Our products are cruelty-free every step of the way. We do not import our products into China or any other country that requires mandatory animal testing or 3rd party animal testing on skin care products.
We are certified cruelty-free with Leaping Bunny International and PETA. All of our ingredient suppliers hold certificates of non-animal testing.
In addition we use next generation vegan substitutes for animal based ingredients such as: collagen, elastin, hyaluronic acid and amino acids.
Since the beginning skin care products have contained animal based ingredients such as such as soluble collagen. Green chemistry has advanced over the years and this has led to phyto and vegan alternatives to animal based ingredients that once flooded the skin care market.
OUR ANIMAL SUBSTITUTE INGREDIENTS
Vegan Amino Acids - Derived from a natural fermentation process utilizing a plant substrate. This blend contains the same profile that is found n collagen and elastin. Sodium L-Pyrrolidone Carboxylate, Sodium Lactate, LArginine, L-Aspartic Acid, L-Pyrrolidonecarboxylic Acid, Glycine, L-Alanine, L-Serine, L-Valine, L-Proline, L-threonine, L-Isoleucine, L-Histidine, L-Phenylalanine
Phyto Collagen - Soluble collagen serves as an excellent skin conditioner, this can be attributed to the relatively uniform amino acid content. Our phyto collagen is derived from Saccharomycetaceae through fermentation. On a cellular level yeast contain many of the same metabolic processes that can be seen in humans. Some strains of yeast have been used as vectors to produce human collagen in culture. Much like the mammalian extracellular matrix, yeast contains a variety of high molecular weight proteins, which contain hydroxyproline-rich regions.
Phyto Ceramides - A skin-identical lipid concentrate for enhanced skin moisturization produced from vegetables and natural, non-genetically modified microorganisms. Vegan Ceramides and phytosphingosines are extracted from vegetable sources and mircoorganism. Cholesterol is made semi-synthetic.
Photo Elastin - A natural, yeast-derived ingredient with a similar protein profile as animal derived elastin. Used for it's skin firming properties.
Phyto Gelatin - Produced from Hydrolyzed Fucus Vesiculosus Protein, used as a moisturizing and humectant.
Hyaluronic Acid - Produced biotechnologically through microbial fermentation with the aid of yeast extract. Used as a humectant.
Bio Rice Milk - Made from brown rice that goes through an enzymatic process whereby the carbohydrates are divided into simple sugars. Since rice milk does not contain lactose or cholesterol there is minimal risk of an allergic reaction.
**We do not use Pearls, Silk, Cashmere or Wool. The only form of honey we use is honey that we can verify has been ethically harvested.
Diverse & Ethical Supply Chain
When you look at a skin care bottle from the out-side what isn't apparent is just how many people, diverse communities and habitats are involved in the ingredients found on the inside. Sadly, one of the areas of the beauty industry that is often overlooked is the minority workers, many of them Women behind some of the most precious ingredients that we have all come to love and cherish. Ingredients such as Shea Butter, Marula Oil, Argan Oil, Coconut Oil, Morninga Oil and many more plant oils are often produced by workers who are unfairly represented within the global beauty industry.

Each year millions of bottles and jars end up in land-fills because they sat on retail shelves where they grew old and were not able to be sold after the expiration date. Most of these products do not decompose and place a burden on our ecosystem.
To learn more about what we are doing to improve this situation and about our Environmental Reduction Process CLICK HERE
The skin care industry is one of the worst offenders of environmental waste from excessive packaging (often additional plastic wrap on boxes) to plastic containers. In addition to all of the plastic used on the packing many skin care formulations are made from silicones and plastic ingredients. There are currently millions and millions of un-opened skin care jars in our land fills that will never decompose from the packaging to the ingredients found inside the jars and bottles.
With this, there are two main reasons why we do not use plastic and silicone based ingredients in our formulations.
1. Several forms of plastic and silicone ingredients are known environmental toxins.
2. These ingredients are often used as film-forming ingredients and slip-enhancers - which we feel dulls the complexion over time.
While it is impossible to eliminate all plastic we work very hard to minimize plastic ingredients and Instead we use alternatives to silicone and plastic ingredients so that your skin and the environment can breath.
You will not find the following ingredients in our formulations:
Silicone, Dimethicone, Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer (film-former), Mineral Oil.
Our sustainable glass packaging is designed with our intention to be mindful of the environment and with this we decided on a label that can be peeled off so that the bottles and jars can be repurposed and not just thrown away for recycling which is great but is also a heavily burdened aspect of over consumption. Our glass bottles can become beautiful bud vases and small keepsake jars.
We do offer a fully recyclable PET shower size bottle by request for all of our cleansers due to the safety of glass in the shower. We are currently sourcing new green technology to replace the plastic pumps and lids and as the plastic ban becomes more wide spread this task will become easier to accomplish.
All of our light sensitive actives are packaged in our white UVA/UVB glass packaging that can also be recycled.
In addition to our glass packaging you can also request in your check-out notes to ship without the application spatulas for all moisturizers and masks.
What Are Fermented Actives
Fermentation is one of the oldest technologies used by different cultures throughout the World. Products such as wine have been produced for thousands of years by way of various fermentation techniques. Fermentation enables higher absorption of vitamins, minerals, and various other phyto-Nutrients, depending upon the plant being fermented. The fermentation process converts ingredients from an inactive form to a bio-active form that our skin can easily recognize and therefore process more efficiently.
We use several fermented actives as we have found them to be more powerful and potent then their past-generation actives that are common in many skin care brands.
Our fermentation is carried out by lactic acid bacteria (LAB) also known as lactobacilli.
Pregnancy And Active Ingredients
Prescription Strength Retinoids Found in prescription acne and anti-aging medications. We do not advise using vitamin A or Retinol while pregnant or breastfeeding.
Free From: Acne Medications, Hydroquinone, Phthalates, Formaldehyde
Every person’s decision of what ingredients to use while pregnant is personal so please feel free to email us about a particular ingredient as we are also able to customize all of our face oils to leave out essential oils and vitamin c.
Allergies To Ingredients
Yes it is possible as we use mainly natural ingredients. Just like you can have an allergy to food ingredients the same is possible for natural skin care ingredients. In addition, we use several nut oils such as Argan Oil so if you have any nut allergies then we would not recommend using our skin care products as all of our formulations are made in a facility where we use several different plant oils and some from nut oils.
While we do not use peanut oil in our products we do use several nut oils such as Argan Nut Oil. We source our cold-pressed oils from many different farmers who may also produce peanut oils. We cannot guarantee allergen-free facilities nor the absence of trace, non-detectable levels of peanuts.
